Anyone interested in BPMN and workflow engines?

We want to integrate BPMN support and build a workflow engine that will then execute BPMN-based business processes.
BPMN enables the proper communication between the operating departments of your customers and us IT guys regarding processes.
If anyone is interested in this too, I would be happy to share ideas and information in a private discussion group, e.g. with help of a skype group.

BTW, it might be interesting also for Servoy to think about BPMN integration, as there are good and mature open source tools out there, and Servoy has been very good to integrate such tools to build a powerful application stack. Integration of an open source BPMN tool would add a further hot argument for the marketing department, as they create nice and useful process graphs (stored as XML BPMN 2.0) that can be executed in a workflow engine.

BPMN and Workflow Automation could also be used regarding DevOps, to automate Servoy deployment until the point where the installation of a new Servoy version to all customer servers can be done with one mouseclick.

Found an interesting link regarding workflow pattern, amazing how much there are, however not all are needed and therefore not all need attention.

I have just got in to BPMN to create a number of process diagrams for a new client.
There is a nice (free) product from these guys
http://www.bonitasoft.com

However I used this app (available for Mac, iOS & windows), Cubetto
http://www.semture.de/en/
It does BPMN and lots of other kinds of useful diagrams and lays out the diagram automatically

It would be great if Servoy added a process workflow engine in to Servoy, but I think it highly unlikely 8-(

One of the current market leaders seem to be camunda and Signavio (both from startup city Berlin). Signavio got a large paycheck from an american venture capital company and has build-in validity checking for BPMN diagrams, but is not cheap (80 Euro/month).

Camunda offers open source here
https://camunda.org/
and they have a good forum
https://forum.camunda.org
plus a snappy free online BPMN editor where you can right away export the XML

IMHO a process workflow engine would be totally integrated in a solution and can be build with a bit effort for the own solution, there are about 5 tables involved, we currently work on this. Very interesting in my view, and a major topic for the coming years, as customers go from data-centric to a process-centric view. Business-IT-alignment is a further important topic currently which has to do with (IT-supported) processes.
