Can TextExpander work with Servoy on Mac OSX?

Is it possible to make

TextExpander work with Servoy on Mac OSX?

http://www.smileonmymac.com/textexpander/

It does work, if you click into the Finder
and then back into Servoy.
(which clears the cut and paste memory)

But it should be easy to fix in Servoy
so that is not needed right?

I use it to punch in todays date with a quick macro
as SQL doesn’t have a key command for todays date right?

(eg Filemaker used cmd dash for todays date)

When you want this for the method editor, there is already a autolookup/finish included.

When you want it for the client you can use autotype fields…

Or did I miss something?

I use TextExpander regularly for the same purpose in Servoy’s method editor, and have never had a problem with it working.

Perhaps is a configuration issue?

I’m on Leopard, Servoy 3.5.3, but also worked fine under Tiger for me.

I want to use it for the client
in a notes field (and other date fields would be good)
when making random comments about customer orders

eg.
Item 123456 returned to us 08/01/27
emailed 08/01/28
email bounced 08/01/28
return to stock 08/03/28

I tried with 3.5.3
no luck.
It always pastes in the last copied piece of text.

If I go to the finder, click on the desktop,
go back into Servoy
then Textexpander will work.

(both in Client and Method Editor)

Mac OSX 10.5
Servoy 3.5.3
and
3.1

Textexpander
have confirmed the problem
and are working on it

Update…

Typinator
works with Servoy / Java on the Mac.
for keyboard shortcuts.

So does TextExpander. On developer and client…

Not in Servoy 3.5.12

  • if the clipboard has some previously copied text.

It uses that and not the TextExpander text.

You then need to go to the desktop.
Click on the desktop
and return to Servoy, that clears the copied
text and then TextExpander returns to normal use.

I assume it’s another Java bug.
