databaseManager.refreshRecordFromDatabase() changes foundset

jcompagner:
Also that databroadcast are not working is also very strange. Are you sure all the clients connect to the same servoy server?
Doenst it work at all? or only sometimes?

Databroadcasting didn’t work with 3.5 version.
I checked it again now with version 4.1.3 and it seems to work (both internal as on the webserver)

I checked also the refresh problem on our webserver and there it looks like the problem doesn’t occur there.
I also checked smart client on our internal server (I tested in developer so far) and with smart client on our internal server same problem.

So it looks like it is server related and not specially solution related. Or perhaps database related. The database on the webserver is little bit different (data) compared to the database on our internal server

After the weekend I’ll try to copy the database from the webserver to our developent server and check if that makes any difference.

don’t test broadcasting in developer!
that is tottaly different than a real smart client

I found something that maybe has something to do with it:

See my database table:

On my screen I don’t see the valuelist filled

Only the record where the owner_id is lowercase shows a correct value:

But … the records are shown with a tableFilter on owner_id and the database (SQL Server 2005) has as setting: Latin General Case Insensitive Accent Sensitive, so it should not make difference between upper en lowercase
And it never makes difference between upper- en lowercase, but for some reason it does make difference here.

Perhaps that is the reason while the refresh fails?

My foundset has 10 records and that is correct; the 9 with owner_id in uppercase and the 1 in lower_case. The records with owner_id other then ‘FC…’ are not shown because of the tablefilter

What are the valuelist values?

i dont think that a valuelist value wil match ignoring case…

so if i have a list with

“MARTIN”
“JOHAN”

and i have data thats has “martin” then i dont think the valuelist will show you “MARTIN”

and maybe if you refresh then something else is saved? and becauseof that it falls out of the foundset because of the tablefiter?

This is the valuelist definition:

When I open the combobox, I only the owner_id in lower-case, which is correct if the tablefilter is taken into mind.
It looks like there is some upper/lower issue, but where?
The records that have owner_id in uppercase, must also show the correct value from the valuelist

Martin,

It seems to me that the FC… are not shown because your table filter removes them.
Probably the case insensitivity setting is not effective.

What happens if you try the same query using a db tool?
You can take the sql from the admin servlet performce data section.
