Can we have a default designer background color?
SO if we go to designer-mode we’ll get a background color we choose?
We are designing a lot of print-forms with borderless-fields. (whitefields on white background)
It is hard to see the allignment this way.
Doesn’t the grid size/color/settings helps you out here?
No, if I change the backgroundcolor manually I can see it much better (every pixel, between fields) Without doing that it is just guessing.

I always set temporarily the bg to black, a (little) waste of time.

This sounds like a good idea.
Some kind of toggle placed on the window or in a menu of the menu bar. Have some keyboard comb for fast switching between on and off mode.
