# Displaying total number of records

Hi, I’ m trying to implement a counter function for displaying total number of records existing in database via server-side scripting by creating a custom component similar to ag-grid’s grouping table component for test purpose.  
I have tried setting the initial view port size to a very high number, created a custom query for loading and grouping records but failed to display number of records.

Any guidance on how to implement the counter
