A customer, running XP on a new Dell, has strange behavior. We just updated them to point to the Servoy 3.1 version of our solution. Until today, they accessed via 2.2.7.
When they click a button to open a FID (new letter, for example), behavior is normal: FID opens. When they click on an existing item (list in tabpanel, such as an already-existing letter), FID does not open. This is true throughout the solution: clicking on a list item in a tabpanel never opens the record in a FID, when it should always do so.
On our test PC, we do not have this problem. Other customers who have moved to the new version have not reported this problem.
I know it seems like a frustrating suggestion, but have you tried creating a sample solution to illustrate this problem? Many times I have figured out what was wrong by simplifying things down into a small sample solution. At the very least, once you have a sample solution that reproduces the problem, you can submit it as a bug and have Servoy investigate it.
I know that my solutions are running in 3.1, have methods that open a FID from a button on a record listed in a tabpanel and I do not have the problem you describe.
Thanks for your thoughts, Steve. We are not having this problem on any of our testing machines, nor on other client machines (n = eight). To me, it looks like a local problem. What is scary for us is that this person does not have an ancient PC with an ancient system, but has a new PC running XP over a decent internet connection. Our product is an ASP-model rich client solution, and we have new customers waiting to get on the system. I don’t want to imagine a scenario in which every third new user has tech support issues like this.
