For some reasons I couldn’t connect to a Client this morning, so I did a clean install of Sevoy On my server.

I’ve replaced the Database folder, the sybase\_config and the sevoy\_server.sh with the old ones. When I started Servoy I couldn’t find the solution in the list.

I have backups of the whole Sevoy folder so I’ve copied the old one back to the server, but I still can’t find the solution.

Please help I’m desperate!

Did you also restarted sybase? When you close Servoy Developer/Server Sybase will keep running.

By the way, any specific reason to do a clean install?

Do you see other solutions or is the repository empty ? Are you checking with Client or are you using Developer ?
Also when you move the backups back are you making sure Sybase (dbsrv9 or dbsrv10) is not running ?

Yes, I wanted to connect as client for testing purposes, I saw an old version of the solution, so I connected with the server thru screen sharing and I tried to do the same. I’ ve got a Download error. After some search on the forum I decided that a clean install might help.

I see the sample solutions that comes with Servoy. I open with Developer directly on the server.

No I didn’t think about that. But I restarted the server several times. This may be the problem why dbserv9 refuses to start. Is he corrupt?

Hi Irene,

If you copied/moved/backed up or restored the database while Sybase (dbsv9) was still running then you get corrupt files because they were still in use.
I suggest you close Servoy and the dbsrv9 process and then restore a valid backup of your repository database (+ log).
Then relaunch Developer and dbsrv9 will start automatically. If you still have troubles then check for errors in sybase\_log.txt in de sybase\_db folder.
Sybase will open the databases defined in sybase.conf, when any of these databases have troubles then Sybase will log this and quit and you end up with no (Sybase) databases open at all.

Hope this helps.

Hello Robert,

Thank you so much! I took first a look to the sybase\_log and the whole problem was in a demo file that I’ve loaded a few days ago. I deleted the database and everything is back to normal.
