Installing 3.0 on top of an existing 2.2.1 installation

Hi,

When I install a 3.0A version on top of an existing 2.2.1 installation and then start developer, developer starts just fine.

But when I go to the URL’s (client, admin, web-client etc.) they all give me a “Page not found” error.

This was the case with the first available aplha, but also with the last version A10.

I just notices that under Preferences-Services, when I hit the Test button, I see the message that the HTTP service is not running.

Somehow I have the feeling it’s related… :lol:

But, I have no idea why it would not be running and how to get it running again…

Any thoughts appreciated

Hi Paul

If on Windows have you tried checking under Start / Control Panel / Admin Tools / Services? I have an entry for HTTP SSL. Not sure if this will solve it but worth a try.

Well, If I start a 2.2.1 final Servoy Developer, the HTTP service starts normally.

If a start a fresh install of 3.0A10, the HTTP service also runs fine.

Only when I install 3.0A10 on top of a fully functional 2.2.1 installation and start Developer, it doesn’t run…

So, my conslusion so far is that it’s not something about the server… The entry you pointed me to exists and has been started.

BTW: Under Preferences-Services, the Start Data and HTTP Services in this Developer is enabled.

Don’t install 3.0 on top of 2.1 it needs specific config files and out installer (for obvious reasons of not loosing existing configurations) does not overwrite configuration files.
