# Installing Servoy 4.1 Final on Ubuntu 8.04

Hi,

I tried to install Servoy 4.1 on a Linux machine running Ubuntu 8.04. The Java Vm is the 1.6.0\_07-b06. It seems to me the Servoy online installation manual is outdated and therefore I couldn’t get it to run on this machine.

Are there any updated step by step instructions on how to install Servoy 4.1 on a Ubuntu 8.04 machine? The behavior I get is that I can run the developer environment but if I try to execute the smart client, as soon as it opens the smart client window, the developer will close. Less often it freezes my entire desktop and I have to kill -s 9 it to get my desktop back.

Any help there?
