Hi everybody,
Having successfully deployed solutions using Chinese as display language under servoy v4.x we did NOT expect issues with Japanese… But encounter some.
Did anybody experience issues with Japanese display under servoy 5.2.x ? Here are our issues explained:
- All labels and static texts are made using i18n keys in all our solutions
- Using Japanese Locale, some i18n Keys appears as ‘unknown characters’ (see screen copies)
- Unknown characters appears on the following conditions:
a) A CSS stylesheet changes the default font
b) Text is displayed into a tooltip and is not an html tooltip (html tooltips DO work)
c) Servoy menubar appears as unknown characters (Please have a look at attachments) - Changing the default font from tahoma to MS Gothic (japanese font) let us get the servoy menubar with japanese font
These issues seems tightly tied to usage of CSS stylesheets, wich appears to be partially broken under v5.2.x. Please note that it worked under v4.1.x…
Issue does NOT occur on Mac OS X 10.6, but on Windows XP Pro… Does anybody experience the same issues with servoy 5.2.x ???
Please have a look on the attached screen copies, 3 bunches; from a Mac OS X, from WinXPPro using tahoma as default font, and from Win XP Pro using MS Gothic as default font.
Many thanks for your suggestions and/or solutions.
