I really would like to switch to Servoy 4 (Eclipse) but I still have issues and bugs, with the jasper-report plugin which we need for Servoy 4
I have posted some issues there, ([http://code.google.com/p/servoy-jasperreports-plugin/](http://code.google.com/p/servoy-jasperreports-plugin/))
a few months ago, and as I can see, they are fixed, but no new release is made yet, for 3 months.

I’m not a Java-developer, so I can’t do this myself. ![:-(]( "Sad")
Can we do something, to speed things up?

Anyone else having this problem/issues with jasper-report plugin also?

I filed two issues on the Google Code site about a month ago but I haven’t seen any news lately on them.

I would like to at least get an update on the Jasper plug-in issues.

We’re having the same problem. We’ve migrated our developer and staging servers to 4.0, but we’re holding back our production server specifically because of this problem ; Jasper Reports.

My problem is ; all jasper reports, which ever the form they are being generated PDF, Viewer or HTML - only works on a client launched via a Developer. They don’t seem to work when the client is launched from a different machine or a browser on the same machine.

The console seem to generate the following exception:

**Exception occurred during event dispatching:**
**java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/servoy/j2db/server/ApplicationServer**

The google pages says its being investigated and we’re still waiting for a reply from them. Hopefully won’t take any longer as we cannot push any of our changes to production since its a older version (3.5) and we cant upgrade to 4.0 cos Jasper doesn’t work on it… ![:(]( "Sad")

IF anyone would like to test my upgrade to the Jasper Reports plugin (may or may not solve your issues noted here) then let me know.
I have extended the export types to TEXT, CSV and some others.
However it does require Java 1.6 and the use of the JasperReports 3.1.0 (and if you do your design in iReports then you also need to ensure your report works in the latest version of that 3.0.0).
I have test in Servoy 3.5.7 and would appreciate testing in 4.1.x
Cheers
Tom

Thomas :

we are having problems to execute reports with Jasper plugin in Windows servers. I noticed there are some Issues opened in Jasper plugin Google project that seem to be related to our problems.

You say you generated a new version : how can we get it ? The one to download in the Jasper plugin Google project dates of July 17th.

It would be great to test it.

If you would like to test the plugin then send me a private message with details of where I can email a zip file.
In return I would like to receive feedback of issues so that I can remove defects before submitting for Servoy review and integration, if possible.
Note again that I have only tested with Servoy 3.5.7, Java 1.6 and WIndows XP Pro SP3. And remember that you may need to use iReport 3.0.0 for the design (jrxml) to be compatible. I Have tested on the developer and on Smart Client and not on the web client. So it is understood this is on an “as is” basis (hint - backup/archive your work prior to usage ![:!:]( "Exclamation") ).

Tom

Hi all,

Some of the reported issues in the JasperReports plugin with Servoy 4 icw Smart Clients have been traced back to an issue in the plugin API of Servoy in 4.x versions.

This issue has been resolved in Servoy 4.1 b4.

With regards to the other issues reported on the project page at Google Code: There is one open issue (path problems when running Servoy as a service). This last issue will be investigated next week. Once sorted, we will release a new version of the plugin.

With regards to the feature request to support rtf output type: Tom, we’re interested to receive a patch for the plugin for review.

Regards,

Paul

Harjo,
I just submitted a patch to enhance the plugin for rtf, csv etc export.
So now might be good time to **_persuade_** Servoy to merge and test and release. ![]( "Laughing")
The offer is still there if you want to test the plugin with servoy 4.x
Cheers
Tom
