However I am looking for design advice to apply this to a web client.

In my case my objective is to provide a mechanism whereby the user is able to highlight rows of a table (or select multiple items in a list) and have them “copied” to another table. For example I have an order with a bunch of order items. I wish to copy order items 7 through 21 to another order.

I would prefer a non-plugin solution.

highlighting is currently not supported in webclient, but with check box and record variable this is easy to accomplish.
