Microsofts own software (.NET) barely launches and runs in Explorer 7 why would you jump on Explorer 8?

Gary

Hi,

What do you mean by “jump”.
The update to Version 8 is done by Microsofts auto-update.

Gary - you make it sound like there is a choice? If we want to deploy solutions to Clients (and some of use need them to be on premise) then you have to test with the browsers they may use. For me at least, some of my Clients will have upgraded immediately, some will run FF and some older IE’s.

There is no choice really - testing with them all is the only way to prevent Client dissatisfaction. Doubtless at some point (if you’re deploying to Clients) you’ll be testing it with IE8 too?

Hi,

Just talked to a collegue of mine and he says it runs fine with internet explorer 8 on his laptop.

I will investigate further and get back on this …

Hi,

I deinstalled version 8 and installed it again.
(In the mean time, some other Microsoft updates where installed)

Now it works without any problems.

So : False Alarm.

Hans
