Question on windows update

At this moment we are running Oracle database on a linux(redhat) virtual machine (Vmware Esx) and
the Servoy application server on a W2003 virtual machine. (We plan to also move this to linux, we have to check the font usage on Jasper reports)

My question is : Can I set W2003 to download and install all windows2003 updates automatically or should I be very carefull with that
and only install very critical patches ??

Hi Hans,

be carefull with Windows updates. Automatic updates are not advised as it can trigger a restart (when needed) this isn’t what you want if this happens when customers are working with the database.
We run updates ourselves on a regular timebase, so that we keep full control at the availability of the server.
