We are pleased to announce the availability of Servoy 2021.06 release candidate 3 (release number 3682)

Some small fixes and regressions, also the detecting NG2 package changes when updating or downgrading packages.

For Windows the installer: exe
and for the MacOSX we have an native dmg
for linux it is tar.gz

For windows we also still have just the zip

An installation (coming from the normal installer or from a platform specific archive) is shipping with with a Java VM (Java 16.0.1)

So for the platform specific archives you don’t need to install or java have on your system.

The developer can be updated by the https://download.servoy.com/developer/l … ecandidate update site url.
This is in our “latest” release stream (03,06,09,12) if you want to stick the the lts release then disable that releasecandidate url and stick to the urls with “lts” in the name
If you update to this release you have to do a new install of 2020.03.3_lts to go back to an the LTS release branch
An new lts release will be done after 20201.06 final is released an will be build from the 2021.03 release

All component packages that are ported to ng2 did have there own releases now. To use NG2 you have to move to that.

I get this error on trying the “check for updates”

If I copy and paste the link to the update site then it gets the latest and installs ok.

Yes that specific link needs to be removed from your update sites in the preferences.
A new install already has the correct one for Subclipse.

I have just updated to 2021.06 RC3.

Since the upgrade I am unable to add any components to any form. When I drag the component onto the form it just disappears.

I am on MacOS Big Sur 11.4

which browser is enabled? in the Servoy preferences is the “use chromium” enabled?

where did you came from? did you also test RC1 or RC2? (because in that area there shouldn’t be any change)

I have checked the preferences and it was NOT using the chromium browser. Enabling this option has fixed the issue. Disabling it re-introduces the problem so whatever is being used when this option is unticked does not work with Servoy Developer.

My installation was a direct upgrade from 2021.03

That’s the internal Safari browser having problems then.

that looks like a problem with components there is a component used where the package is not installed or at least the component is not there anymore.
