Summaries not working in one table

In one table in my solution, summary fields have simply stopped working - they just remain empty.

Even if I create a simple number field and a simple summary field to total it, I get nothing.

Summary fields in other tables work fine, just this one table has this problem.

Any ideas on what do I do to restore function?

I have tried:

exporting, deleting and re-importing the solution;
creating a completely new gdb file and starting with fresh data;

all with no effect - I cannot get any summary field in this table to work :?
