Servoy 2021.12 release candidate 2

Postby jcompagner » Fri Dec 17, 2021 5:50 pm

We are pleased to announce the availability of Servoy 2021.12 release candidate 2 (release number 3721)

This included the latest Log4J 2.16 that has fixes for the found security issues.

With the release we have now a native MacOSX M1 installer..

For Windows the installer: exe
and for the MacOSX_86_64 we have an native dmg
and for the MacOSX_Aarch64 (M1) we have an native m1 dmg
for linux it is tar.gz

For windows we also still have just the zip

An installation (coming from the normal installer or from a platform specific archive) is shipping with with a Java VM (Java 17.0.1)

So for the platform specific archives you don't need to install or have java on your system.

The developer can be updated by the https://download.servoy.com/developer/l ... ecandidate update site url.
This is in our "latest" release stream (03,06,09,12) if you want to stick the the lts release then disable that releasecandidate url and stick to the urls with "lts" in the name
If you update to this release you have to do a new install of 2021.03.1_lts to go back to an the LTS release branch

See whats new for the global changes

See the issues list for a complete overview of all the cases.

Most component/service packages also are already updated to a new release

Hi,

I have just re-opened SVY-16365 as it does not appear to be fixed in 2021.12_rc2.

Thanks
Steve

Hi,

I am having problems opening some of my existing forms using 2021.12_rc2. I get an error in the developer console and there are no components shown on the pallete. I have logged it under SVY-16748 along with the error I am getting.

Thanks
Steve

Hi All

Concerning change SVY-16389: As a company working since version 1.9 with Servoy, we strongly reject that change. Our customers use SAP SQP Anywhere 17, we use it for the development of all of our applications. You are going to remove a functionality we NEED regularly out of the blue, because someone hasn't "seen" the database for some years? I absolutely don't get it!

Removing ONE of many "Create new database" entry which is needed as daily users of Servoy Developer. REALLY?

I am stunned.

this has nothing todo with removing support of Sybase, its only that we had 2 (not more!, Postgresql and Sybase) options to create a database through servoy, this Sybase option is only not shown anymore if there is no Sybase database connected.

This has nothing todo with the options to Connect to a database (this is about Create a database). And it makes no sense to show that option if there is not an existing Sybase database connection.

Thanks for clarifying that, Johan. I just had the impression that the connection possibility to SQL Anywhere will be removed. All good now.

Thanks and best regards,
