We announce the immediate availability of Servoy 2.1 beta 5

NOTE: this is BETA SOFTWARE, use with caution and make BACKUPS before you start.

Install in a separate directory or over 2.1 beta 4, not in your default 2.0 Servoy directory (so you can easily move back to your production version). Before launching it make sure Sybase is not running to avoid connecting to your production repository. If you do not know how to stop Sybase restart your machine.

Do not use in production.

[enh]added security.getSystemUserName(). Returns the username of the user that is logged into the System OS.

you mean from b4->b5?
there where just tweaks and things that didn't work quite right (margin setting ect). Sample code was not perfect yet. And the designer didn't display the right style after you changed and saved the style.

So I just can install the beta in on a different location on my harddisk, restart my computer and then it doesn't effect the -old- database or repository server?

Correct, also when you switch from version to version make sure to also stop sybase (otherwise your 'other' repository will continue to run). On windows right click on the SQL icon in your taskbar and stop it, on mac stop the dbsrv process using Activity Monitor.
