intro language? Teaching

Postby teach » Tue Jul 08, 2003 9:25 pm

Downloaded and became very excited about all things possible.

Many things missing from FM were right here.

I have been using FM to teach intro to programming. It has been unbelievable , what a teenager with no former knowledge of programming can do. A lot of finale projects had nothing to do with databases. There is enough in scriptmaker to teach logic and control and still provide instant gratification to hook kids.

But when the kids looked for summer jobs no one had ever heard of FileMaker.

So I find Servoy, scripting is done in JavaScript which is a great standard and plugin can be made in Java also great.

Because of using JavaScript and Java the learning curve is more standards based and more job possibilities are available for use in web development.

The question is how many houses in the States use Servoy?

Is there a education program in the US and do you have a education grant like FM?

This is great STUFF

Dear Teach,

What did you have in mind? I'm sure that if you submit a proposal on what you want to do with the Servoy software and how many licenses you're looking for - that you'll get a satisfactory reply from the Corporate Office. You can email via back channel to: sales@servoy.com.

P.S. Where are you in the world? :-)

Cheers,

Are you Mr. ClickWare?

When I started learning Filemaker I went to your site every night
Your tips and tricks helped me greatly

Do you have any plans to do the same with servoy?

I live in Woodstock, CT and teach at Marianapolis Prep a small Catholic

Hey Steven!

Yep, Mr. ClickWare here. Thank you for your kind words - I really appreciate it.

There ARE "good things" in the works. :D

The demand for Servoy Developers is growing every day. I know that ClickWare has 4 pending proposals for projects totalling in the six digits - all Servoy work.

Thank you for taking the time to contribute to the forum!

Cheers,
