Hey Everybody:

This is for those who are creating solutions for the health care industry in the US and many other countries. There have been multiple attempts to standardize data to allow interoperability across platforms, vendors, etc.

If you decide to develop for the healthcare industry you might want to consider using the HL7 standards for naming columns and defining data types. This may save you a lot of headache in the future as well as bolster your credibility.
