Windows Desktop Shortcut

Postby Gordon McLean » Tue Feb 21, 2012 8:34 pm

I have user who has lost the shortcut to her Servoy app on Windows, is there a way this can be recovered as she is having to re load the app from a deep link each time she starts up. How is the shortcut saved ? I have seen various pointers towards cookies etc can it be created remotely or via a Servoy method ?

Many thanks
Gordon

Hi Gordon,

The dialog that asks to save the (shortcut/app) icon is part of Java Webstart, not Servoy persé. You can make Webstart ask again to save the icon by deleting the Servoy client application from the java cache (see Java controle panel > General Tab > View button, delete application, select Show 'Deleted Applications' and delete it permanently, that's it).
After this you can download the client again and it will ask to save the shortcut/app again.

Hope this helps.
