Sybase Central

Postby Westy » Fri Jul 16, 2004 4:40 pm

What are the usage limitations on Sybase Central? Can we include it on a CD to allow our users to setup Sybase to run as a Windows service, or must our customers purchase it from Sybase and download it (110MB)? If they must purchase it, what is their cost?

I notice that the Servoy Store lists:

SQL Anywhere Studio, 2 CPU license (unlimited clients) $3,495

What does this include, and why do we need it?

Servoy Client and Developer licenses also include the right to use Sybase Central. We are working on a re-distributable version of Sybase central at this moment that will be much smaller. We're still waiting on some additional information from Sybase on this subject at the monent. Until then you can use the full sql anywhere installer to get sybase central

How are things progressing on this? We would really like a version that would just: (1) allow creation of Sybase as a Windows service and (2) include the backup wizard. The present 112MB file size is a problem.
