1) no TEST button 2) CreateSolut Greyed- out Mac os 10.2.8

1) I seem to have successfully connected to a MYSQL
server locally on my powerbook, but in the description
panel it doesn't have a the test button described in the manual.
but when I chnge something ( to a wrong setting) it
gives an erroro when I click OK button.
Has the TEST simply been put in the code for the OK button?

2) I haven't installed a serial number, if they gave me one I lost it;
and " create solution in main menu is greyed out.

is there a way to get the number again
when running in demo mode? if that is my problem?

thanks, and DOWN WITH FILEMAKER!! NO WEB SOLUTION AFTER 4 YRS

The "Test" button is no longer there - the connection is tested when clicking the "OK" button.

I assume you're using 1.2RC5 (available in the "General" section of the main forum... the "New Solution" menu item will only be "dimmed" if you haven't got a valid connection to the Servoy repository database (pointed to by the "repository_server" connection on the "DB Servers" tab in Edit -> Preferences).

If you are trying to make MySQL be the repository - and you have pointed the "repository_server" connection to a MySQL database - then go to File -> Repository... and click the "Check Repository" button in the lower left. This will re-create/update the repository tables and you should be able to create solutions.

Hope this helps,
