URL Redirects

Postby twilliamson » Thu Jan 29, 2009 8:16 pm

I am hoping that I'm posting in the correct forums about this topic.

Currently, the URL for our servoy application is along the lines of https://www.domainname.com/servoy-webcl ... ng/project and when you go to this URL (this is just an arbitrarily named example mind you) it then automatically redirect the user to https://www.domainname.com/servoy-webcl ... gofletters.

The root of our webserver URL (https://www.domainname.com/) resolves to the servoy client launcher page. Of which we have no plans for people to use. What we want to do is have http://www.domainname.com autoforward the user to https://www.domainname.com/servoy-webcl ... ng/project so they only have to remember a short URL... the domian name.

My being unfamiliar with Tomcat and servoy and how they work with applets has not assisted in this being an easy task. I need to know either A.) where in the server or tomcat settings I can set a redirect -or- B.) Where the root of the server where the client launcher page is where i can create a simple redirect index page.

Any help is much appreciated.

Welcome to Servoy!!

If I understand your requirement correctly I think that an iframe will resolve the situation.

A search of the Forum for "iframe" brought up quite a few results - these should get you started:

Hope this helps
