Servoy-Plugins.de announces website refresh, new products

Postby patrick » Mon Mar 09, 2009 12:55 pm

Today we updated our website, released new products and updated almost all of our plugins and beans to improve compatibility with Servoy 4.

We are proud to announce these exciting new plugins:

* the UserManager plugin: management of the Servoy server and connected clients

The UserManager is a client/server plugin that allows developers to build a complete server management system right into their solution without the need to use the server's admin page. Use the UserManager to get detailed information on connected clients, shutdown clients, automatically disconnect idle clients, send messages to clients, execute methods in remote clients, start batch processors and run methods in them to perform time consuming tasks on the server, ...

* the Phone plugin: make and receive calls directly from your Servoy solution

The Phone plugin is a client/server plugin that uses TAPI (Telephony Application Programming Interface) to allow Servoy clients to make and receive phone calls. The TAPI connection is setup on the server (only possible on Microsoft Windows servers), not the client. This allows even Macintosh clients to use the plugin to make and receive calls.

* the FileWatcher plugin: get notification if a file has been changed in the file system

The FileWatcher plugin is a simple plugin that can call a method whenever a (watched) file has been changed in the file system. This is very useful if you need to implement a document management system. If a user checks out a document you can watch that file. Once it is saved to disk, you know that the user has changed the file and remind the user to check that document back in.

* the PDI plugin: read and write vCard and vCalendar files

The PDI plugin for Servoy offers developers access to the vCalendar and vCard formats to exchange address and calendar information with other programs.
