Cyrillic characters missing in PDF output

When generating a PDF document from an HTML file, special characters (Cyrillic) are skipped and not displayed.

This surely is due to encoding but there is no way to set encoding during this process to my knowledge.

Please advise.

Can you explain a bit more what and how you are generating a PDF from an HTML file?
