I don't know anything about Java, but since I've seen this little, fancy application (http://www.otherwise.com/Download.html), I thought I could write a simple animation and put it in a bean to place on my splash screen (I tried to use an animated gif, but it doesn't run smoothly).

What do you think? Is it a good idea? If so, how can I get a bean from the code? Have I to use a special tool?
