There is a time to say hello and there is a time...

to say goodbye.

My 'trial' journey with Servoy began in 2003, my official journey began on April 1st, 2004.
Today, roughly 15 years later it is time to say goodbye.

It is a goodbye with lots of good memories and certainly a bright future.
A future both for my IT2BE Components for Servoy as well as for myself.

You will read more about it at a later moment but the Components have been sold to Scott Butler, founder of iTech Professionals and Servoy University.
I have known Scott for a long time now and he was my first choice to hand over my 'children' to.
I am sure Scott will develop the Components in a direction that every client will benefit from.

My own 'future' has already started on October 1st, 2017.
I have started working for a company called Kaak.
Kaak is world market-leader in industrial bakery installations and I am responsible for a small department developing an IIOT solution.
It is really exciting to work for such a well known company, in new territory, and on the edge of technology.

I thank you very much for trusting me enough to use my components in your Servoy solutions.

The website as well as the sales and support email addresses remain to be the same.

Kind Regards,

Marcel Trapman

Best of luck to you, Marcel! I am saddened to see you go...I have always looked upon you as one of the Servoy 'old guard' sages. And, thank you so much for providing/supporting the wonderful components you created. Scott is an excellent choice for the adoption of your 'children'. If there is anything I can do for you, never hesitate to ask.

Marcel, thank you for your contributions to Servoy and this community forum over the years. Its an honor to take over and build upon what you created.

Many of you may be wondering what the future plans are. In the short term, our aim is to just provide a stable transition. We have 3 developers on staff that are proficient in Java and we will be working on familiarizing ourselves with the code base, as well as streamlining and integration of the websites back-end infrastructure. In the longer term, we plan to look at the backlog of feature request for the components and implement the popular ones. We also plan to add a Web Components section to the servoycomponents.com site and bring over the many different NG Components we've been working on.

I'm sure Scott will do a great job with them moving forward.
Good luck in the future, we will miss you in the 'Servoy World'.

Wow, I feel all warm and fuzzy now thanks to your kind words all...

And Johan, did you really mean fun with or did you mean fun of :D
Anyway, I am sure you will find somebody else...

Otherwise I am more than willing to come to the next Servoy World or, when I am in Amsterdam, visit the Servoy offices...

Hi Marcel,
It's sad to see you go but also very much appreciated that you are leaving your plugins and extensions into good hands.

I remember you attending some of the very first Servoy sessions and how quickly you recognized the potential of Servoy's technology. Truly appreciate all the time you have invested in the product and the community over the time. If you'd stay we would candidate you for a life time achievement award ;-). I'm sure you will find opportunities to use Servoy at your new job, in particular as it makes a lot of sense to use Servoy as back and front-end for IOT solutions. Servoy even won an Intel IOT Hackathon with yours truly coding a Servoy IOT backend, feel free to download our project here: http://www.instructables.com/id/BlueBox-Plane-Tracker/

Best luck in your new adventures and we'll see you at the next ServoyWorld!

Many thanks for all your efforts in developing and maintaining the IT2be Servoy Components!
Much success and fun in your new (IOT) job and hopefully we will meet again somewhere sometime...

PS. Please pass on the Netronic JGantt manual to Scott
