Attaching documents in the mail

Postby palacio » Mon May 21, 2018 11:17 am

Hi!

I would like to ask if anyone has the idea or explanation on when we are send emails using the mail plugin with atleast 2 documents attached , it
takes more than a minute to send these mails , sometimes 5 minutes or 20 minutes just to send an email with attached documents.
There is a headless client that sends this mail that is configured to run for every 2 minutes.
The servoy version that we are using is Servoy version 5.2.18 -build 1031 .

Does anyone have an idea ?

Thank you in advanced.

Hi Sir. Robert,

They are both pdf files and both with the size of 171KB.

To add:

This mail with 2 attached pdf documents was not sent and the error was EOF.
Is there a limit of size of documents that can be attached in the mail plugin?

Hi Palacio,

The size limit is most of the time on the (mail)server side. The plugin can handle large attachments just fine.
The EOF (End Of File) error can be caused by a lot things. Bad network connection, mailserver prematurely closing the connection, etc.
Can you try another mailserver?

Thank you for the response , Sir. Robert, now it's more clear to me now.
This problem happens only to one of our clients.
Every now and then they attach documents (at least 2 documents attached) and when this happens the mail does not send and it takes at least 15 to 20 minutes to have the exception [EOF].

The mail server that they use , I think is outlook.
