Postby svroemisse » Thu Feb 15, 2007 4:00 pm

We announce the immediate availability of Servoy 3.1.3

Make a backup of your current Servoy installation (directory and database) before installing.

This version will also be available through auto update shortly for 3.x.x users (check via help menu -> check for new version)

Changes:
[chg] undid sometimes very disadvantageous optimization to loading of table meta info (with databases having more than 200 tables it could take anywhere from 5 minutes up to an hour to start a solution)
[fix] missing subsummary record in reports under certain conditions

Re: Servoy 3.1.3/slow startup

Postby gilesrowland » Mon Feb 19, 2007 2:30 pm

We have an issue with one client running with version 3.1 release 404 and with around 90 tables where startup via the client's internal URL is recently taking around 40 minutes. External clients and internal clients using the external URL startup in the usual time of around 2 minutes.

We suspect that this problem is network related, or due to the recent Java update but wonder if it could be linked to the slow startup problem corrected in 3.1.3. We would be grateful for any other suggestions though.

Giles.

The problem has been there since version 3.1.

Thanks Sandor.

Do you think this is likely to be the cause of the slow loading of a solution with just 90 tables, and not the 200 that you mention?

We will try an upgrade anyway.

Giles.

It likely is, yes. This figure of 200 is not a hard limit, it just came from experience. Depending on the speed and load of your client, network and server(s) and the complexity of your solution, the practical threshold may vary widely.
