left margin in a form

Postby IT2Be » Mon Feb 23, 2004 2:57 pm

I just found out that a form show in record view shows a left margin of something like 5 - 10 pixels. If I set that same form to locked (record view) the margin is gone...

Why is that (don't get me wrong I want it to be without the margin)?

The margin is to highlight the current row in listview, so when using the normal record view the user can switch to listview (and we need the margin) in locked record view this cannot happen, so no margin is needed

Hi Jan,
can you delete the margin in Record view too? there it also not needed.
I am switching a lot from table to form view, (with both the same elements in the title-header)

everytime the screen jumps a little from the left to right and viceversa.

(Or you could add the margin to table-view too, so that every form has this, and no jumping is seen!)

As explained it is needed when user switches to table view, use the locked record view (this one has no margin for selection indicator)

Thats strange they both use the same margin if you are able to switch between views in browse mode.
Are you sure it's not coused by something else? (like controller?)

He, you are right!, the Recordview (locked) does not have the margin!
I was always using the other one!

I did not know! thanks for the tip!
