format property setup

Postby leonid » Mon Sep 17, 2012 9:25 pm

How to eliminate the showing of format mask in run time, but at same time I would like to allow user to enter specific number of characters. For example, in text_field I setup format property as AAAAAA and when form loaded I see AAAAAA.

Hi Leonid,

I get the same result, looks like a bug to me. Or is it a feature, I hope not :?

Hi Omar,

Slightly off topic, but is there some way to allow the user to step through "MM/dd/yyyy" in a date field? I can make it display the MM/dd/YYYY, but when the user enters real numbers, it doesn't step through to the next digit as they type, displacing the placeholders. Instead, it pushes the placeholders to the right. I've tried various combinations of the mask or data entry format, but it doesn't work. This is 6.0.7.

Do you know a way to do this?

Thank you,
Don

Hi Don,

In Servoy 6.1 this works as expected if you set the field type to calendar and check the mask checkbox:

I am not sure if this was the same in Servoy 6.0x?

Hi Omar,

It allows me to select an Edit Format, and I close the box. When I open the format box again, the Edit Format is empty. Not sure what is going on.

Thank you for responding,
Don

Hi Don,

Yes, apparently it does that when you select the mask checkbox but it should work correctly. In the format property field you can see which format is in effect. It should contain MM/dd/yyyy|mask.
