Mac OS X LookAndFeel on WinXP

Postby Westy » Tue Mar 30, 2004 3:46 pm

We only use the Windows platform, but someone opened one of our solutions on the Mac and I was surprised to see how well everything looked with the Mac LookAndFeel.

This got me thinking. Is it possible to run the Mac OS X LookAndFeel on the WinXP platform?

Where can I download the Mac OS X LookAndFeel so I can try it?

Also, are there any special instructions required, or do I just drop it in the "lafs" folder and then select it from Edit/Preferences/Look And Feel" within the Client?

Isn't it in your lafs directory? As far as I know I did a fresh install on my windoos machine and it is selectable under the prefs. Otherwise 'borrow' it from your collegue with his mac...

Further, just select it and restart...

On Windows XP Professional my lafs folder only contains two files named kunststoff.jar and skinlf.jar. Interestingly, another Servoy developer just told me he looked into his lafs folder on a Mac and could only see the same two files.

Does anyone know where the OS X LookAndFeel file(s) are stored on the Mac?

Do you want to use the mac OS L&F on a windows machine?
That is not possible. the mac-os-L&F is integrated in the OS itself.

It is the same as the windows-os-L&F. Java adjust his program this the internal L&F. There is no seperated file, where you can find these L&F

Not having any Mac computers, I thought that if we could use the Mac OS L&F on a Windows PC it might be possible for us to see how the screens would look on a real Mac.
