How to create a new controller?

Postby cuoredisardegna@tiscali.i » Thu Apr 22, 2004 10:08 am

Could anyone help me?
I see in crm that one form can use controller of another form ( i.e. companies uses controller navigation ).
Lookig to this example i’d wanted to make the same.
So, i made a solution in which i created two forms: form1(controller default); form2.
Then, i think that i have :
1. to create a new controller;
2. to assegnate it to form1;
3. To assegnate it to form2 so that form2 can be called as part of form 1.

The problem for me is that when i click on default controller, property editor windows appears me, but, from there, it is impossible for me to create a new controller

Tanks in advance

You can have a look tho this nice video that shows how to define your own controller.

http://developer.servoy.com/demos/navigation.htm

So.

1) define the form (MenuPrincipale) you want to be a controller, put showInMenu properties to false in it's properties panel and controller to none and select a width of aprox. 140

2) define the forms you want to be controlled (Form1, Form2) and select MenuPrincipale as their controller

and that's all !!!

just remember to uncheck the showInMenu!!! of the controller form, if not MenuPrincipale will not appear in the controller selection.

Hi Enrico,

i was thinking about wath you wrote about your pleasure in communicating the developer-truth you have discovered.
Really the man not only wishes to find the truth, when he does not possess it, but also to communicate it when he obtains it. The communication gives him the measure of his excellence not only because intelligent sed also becaue good: "Bonum diffusivum sui" -Il bene e' diffusivo per la sua stessa natura-.

I have had much progress from Your specifications about portal.
Now i'l work in accord of Yours new specifications.
Tank You very much.

Quite inusual too see scholastic maxime quoted in a software discussion :lol:

Anyway, that's what this forum is meant for: to give and receive help and to share experiences.

...and to have fun with Servoy :wink:
