Server Side Execution/Remoting

Postby willieseabrook » Thu Aug 19, 2004 9:37 am

Hi,

I need to be able to communicate via a deployed Servoy client with applications running on our server to do things such as

1. generate very cpu intensive reports pulling data from both our sql database but also text files stored on our server (hence can't have the logic executed from within a client)
2. load generated xml messages into a messaging queue

I'm wondering what the best way to do this would be?

Is there any way gain access to remote objects running in an application server (Jboss, tomcat etc)?

Is it possible to build a plugins that run logic on the server and just provide stubs to the client al la webservices/rmi?

Would the best way be to create a client side web services plugin and use that to access our webservices?

Regards
Willie

If you're talking accassing Soap webservices from a Servoy Client, have a look at: http://forum.servoy.com/viewtopic.php?p=12120#12120

If you're talking HTTP webservices, check out: http://forum.servoy.com/viewtopic.php?t ... webservice

Hope this helps,
