IT2BE / Servoy Components Update

Postby goldcougar » Mon Sep 17, 2018 7:05 pm

We've released a new website and many other updates for the IT2BE Servoy Components at The updates include:

- New design and navigation
- Updated pricing. Prices are now in USD, and generally lower than the previous prices
- New store. Processing is now handled through Zoho Subscriptions instead of ShareIt/DigitalRiver. Prior subscriptions will continue where they originated.
- New license process. Trial license are generated through the Free Trial process on the website (not through the IT2BE Manager any more)
- New support ticket system. Zoho Desk is now used for handling support tickets. Prior tickets and accounts were migrated from the older FreshDesk system. (This was launched a bit earlier)
- Updated IT2BE Manager. The manager has been simplified to function as more of a pure installer. You can still place it in your Servoy install directory just like before, but now you can also run it from outside the install directory and then choose which Servoy install it should act upon. Licensing features have also been removed, so the IT2BE Manager just handles installations.

Upcoming features:
- Automated Licenses. Trial and full purchase license will be sent out automatically. Currently this is somewhat of a manual process, so it will be improved soon.
- License management in properties. Licenses codes will be additionally able to be managed on the servoy-admin server plugins page, so your license keys can be stored in the properties file, and not have to be passed in through the .register(...) function.
- Web Components. We have a growing library of Web Components for Servoy 8 and will be listing them on the site within the next few months.
- New Tools Pro Plug-in. We have a new plugin for handling advanced connectivity like FTP, SSH, SFTP, SCP, SSH Tunnel, as well as Zip, GZip, etc. As some have noticed, the older library in use by the FTP plugin is outdated and not compliant with newer secure servers.
