Help with Enhanced Security

Postby tommygill » Tue Aug 03, 2010 4:08 pm

Hi All

Just trying to get a handle on the new security functions in 5.2
In previous releases I used the built in security process by checking "Must Authenticate" in the solutions properties and defining users and groups in "Security". I know that I can achieve the same results in 5.2, I just can not grasp it yet.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

that what you describe there will still work fine.
You get the default login dialog that uses the default security (defined in users/groups)
So for this setup you dont have to change anything.

If you have your own login form and login code then you need to convert to the new 5.2 method (if you want to use the new security)

Thanks Johan

Works as expected in smart client from developer.
Smart Client from application_sever does not work.
Here is the details.
Solution property
logInForm = DEFAULT
loginSolutionName = none
modulesNames = none
mustAuthenticate = checked

Smart Client from developer displays the default login form asking for name & password. After Entering the appropriate data, the proper form opens and works fine.
Smart Client from application_server has 2 different respones.
Client opens to gray screen & displays the default login form. After interning the appropriate data, client displays error "Login Failed".
or
Client open to gray screen and does nothing else.

Thanks for your help.
