"Requesting Form Data"

Postby david » Tue May 27, 2003 11:59 pm

When you first load up Servoy client and navigate to various forms for the first time, you get a message "Requesting form data" in the message area in the bottom left of the window. Depending on the connection speed to the server, this can take a moment or two. I've noticed that after this initial load, it is much faster to navigate between forms -- presumably because the form data is now in memory on the client computer.

Assuming that I'm at least partially correct, is it possible to force all form data from the repository down to the client when the client starts up a solution? I am going to be testing a dial-up connection soon and I would like to optimize the client speed as much as possible.

Currently it is not possible to preload forms in the client. We are investigating the possibility to cache forms to disk in the client so that they load very fast if they are unchanged since the last time they were opened.
