WebClient - select multiple files for upload

Postby grahamg » Sun Sep 09, 2012 9:02 pm

Is there a way to select and upload multiple files from the File system with WebClient?

You can upload several files at once but each one has to be selected individually - there doesn't seem to be a way to use Shift+Click to select a group in one go - or am I missing something?

We have a client that uploads @150 documents at the start of each Project and clicking one at a time is very tedious when they are all in the same folder!

Also, the selected files display as "C:\fakepath\filename - not really important but the 'fakepath' does confuse new Users.

i think multi select is really only possible with html5, (or maybe using a flash solution)
so to support this we need to really have different options for different browsers.

i am not quite sure where that "fakepath" really comes from, create a case so that we can dive into that a bit deeper (at first sight i don't see it)

about the fakepath, that is something the browser does (at lease Chrome & Safari I believe)

you can read something about it here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4851 ... c-fakepath

It should be possible for Servoy, to search for that last '/' and just skip everything in front of it

This 'fakepath' will be ignored starting with Servoy 6.1.3.
Multiple file selection will also be available for browsers that support it (IE doesn't support it yet).

and PLEASE set the font in that upload window, to something crossplatform: like Verdana, or Arial.....

On Windows it looks terrible....

Please create a case for this as well. I'm thinking we could use the default css for fields/buttons at least. (or maybe even allow specifying a style name which could be used to customize things further - maybe even differently for the labels/list/upload button/delete button)
