Switching Sybase off on Application Closure

Postby dpearce » Mon Jun 23, 2008 11:27 pm

Does anyone know of a mechanism of making sure the sybase database server shuts down when developer shuts down.

I want to have some users operate two separate solutions offline, but the repository and databases continue to run on shut down of one version of developer offline.

Is there anything in the startup or setup files or from developer that can tell ianywhere to close on closure of Servoy? its just quite confusing for the user to have to remember to go to the sybase icon and close it before starting up the other version of developer offline.

Depends on the platform but I guess you could create a shell script or batch file that starts Servoy and closes the database connection once the Servoy process closed.

You can configure sybase ianywhere to stop when the last connection closes.
Simply add the following option to the first line of your sybase.config (in sybase_db):
