Project Explorer - can't open file from there ... why?

This is probably a quick - and perhaps embarrassing question:

Which is the view that allows me to open the projects in the workspace but also allows me to open the files in the editor?

I am doing this: Window/Show View/Project Explorer/

The problem is that the files shown here can’t be opened in the editor –even after clicking the ‘Link with Editor’ icon (red circle in the image above.)

Thank you guys for any help you could provide.

Window > Show View > Other > Navigator > MySolution >
