Is the field sequence changeable in the table editor?

Hi,
as I'm a servoy newbie, I might ask some stupid questions in the beginning, so please excuse if that will be the case.

I wanted to change a table name and some field names in it, so I did a copy of that table.
Now, all field names were changeable.

Is it also possible now to change the field sequence in the table editor?
(I like to put the most important fields on top also in the physical SQL table.)

There is kind of a handle left of each field name (a little quadrat),
but grabbing that and trying to move the field seems to have no effect.

Thanks
Bernd

Hi Bernd,

First of all welcome to the forum, I see this is your first post.
Second. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. :)
(Having said that I hope I am not gonna give you a stupid answer ;) )

First of all Servoy offers some simple way to manage your database tables but if you really want to manage those you better use one of the DBA tools for your database server (PgAdmin for example if you use PostgreSQL).
Also the order of the fields are bound to the order of creation so reordering them would require a recreation of the table.
Servoy's table editor does allow sorting the column grid by clicking on the header but that will always be ascending/descending on the values in the grid, not by your own specific order.

I hope this explains things for you.
