Connecting to a remote Sybase database using Sybase Central

Postby Thunder » Thu Aug 31, 2006 9:47 am

Hi all

Is it possible to connect to Sybase databases remotely? I have a series of solutions out there and would like to be able to set up backups, create indices and generally do stuff on the databases in Sybase Central. There seems to be no documentation on how to connect to a remote database. Any particular port for eg? I'd be grateful for any help

Thanks

Sure you can and I can not imagine this is not documented...
Any particular port
The default port = 2638 but of course others can be set too.

When I googled for 'ianywhere remote login' I got 37.600 hits. This one http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/product_manuals/sqlanywhere/0902/en/html/dbugen9/00000609.htm was the 2nd and looks promising...
