Stop Firebird server

Postby r.rios » Mon Mar 15, 2004 9:28 pm

Hi,
Like most of us, I installed Firebird with Servoy. But most of the time I use mySQL as my repository; is there a way to start and stop the Firebird server at will (without uninstalling)?

Firebird doesnt run until you connect to it. It runs in inetd. So as long as you don't connect no need to stop it either. I also think it stops automatically on unix after disconnecting. If you want to know more details check the Firebird site and docs.
