Very odd Date field behaviour

Postby rochard » Sun Mar 21, 2004 6:34 pm

I have a Datetime field that has no auto-enter values or other properties. When I create a new record, however, it is entering the current date and if I change that entry to the date I want, the field reverts to current date as soon as I exit the field. There are no event properties for the field either. Using Build RC9. Any suggestions gratefully received. TIA

Very odd Date field behaviour

Postby rochard » Mon Mar 22, 2004 4:23 pm

Found the problem. To do with the formatting of the field. Had it set to MM-DD-YYYY and not MM/DD/YYYY. It would seem logical that the field should accept date entered in a standard way and the format being the way that it displays it otherwise it forces users to enter dates in a way that they are either unfamiliar with or may not know how the developer has formatted it. Just a thought!
