Database (ASA) cannot be started

Postby hpmxxx » Wed May 05, 2004 10:25 am

Hello, what's going wrong here:

This entry is from file "sybase_log.txt":
E. 05/05 09:46:03. Database cannot be started -- server must be upgraded to start "C:\Programme\Servoy\database\protrade_data01.db" (capability 32 missing).

How can I upgrade the server?

Thanks
Hans-Peter

I think you have an older version of a Sybase-DB, that needs to be upgraded.

Download the SQL Anywhere Studio which includes: Sybase Central. here: http://www.ianywhere.com/downloads/sqlany.html

In Sybase Central there are funtions, where you can upgrade a database

I'm still working with SQL Anywhere Studio but with the newest Version of ASA 9 (v9.0.1.1841). The db engine which is deployed with Servoy 2.0 is v9.0.0.1841. I think this is the problem.

How can I update this engine? Can I copy the needed files from the "win32" folder inside the "Sybase" folder to the "sybase_db" folder inside the "Servoy" folder?

Yes, you can replace the files in the sybase_db folder with the ones from the sybase installation.
We hope to upgrade our default 2.0 install to 9.0.1 as soon as possible.
