Restarting a Windows Server

Postby Bernd.N » Tue Feb 28, 2017 4:25 pm

When a Windows Server 2012 / 2016 needs to be restarted (rebooted), e.g. due to updates, should you stop the Servoy Application Server Service and the postgres Service first?
Or can nothing happen with the data when you do not do this?

Nothing will happen (except connected users are kicked out). Just restart.

And that is also true for Postgres, right?
Because I heard that some other databases should be shut down explicitly before a reboot, as otherwise they need more time to recover after restart.

Restarting stops all services and these should properly close whatever needs to be closed.
