Running Sybase ASA as a Service

Postby Westy » Tue Jul 13, 2004 12:51 am

I have followed the Help file instructions for installing Sybase ASA as a Service on a Window XP Professional computer, but when I go to start up the Service I get an error dialog that says "Could not open/read file: C:\Progam". The rest of the message is cut off because of the small size of the error dialog.

I also tried reinstalling the basic Servoy installation on a new computer to see if starting with a clean slate would help. However, I keep getting that same error dialog. My guess is that there is a syntax problem with the sybase.config file, however, I have double-checked everything and even tried the paths to the database files both with and without quotes around them. Still no go.

Are the instructions in the Help file complete? Is there something else that is needed.

I may have found the solution at:

http://forum.servoy.com/viewtopic.php?t ... sc&start=0

(a thread I had been involved in before, but forgot about)

Looks like the parameter should be:

"@C:\Program Files\Servoy\sybase_db\sybase.config" which is different from the instructions in the Help file. I will try this tomorrow when I get back in the office.
