i noticed on the secure.servoy.com store that there is no option to just buy the server edition, is that because it is included in the developer edition? So if I purchased a developer edition, I already own a server version?

You never have to license Servoy Server separately. When you buy developer or client licenses, server licences are included in the prices you pay.
