Java 7 or 6u38?

Postby Providence1 » Fri Jan 11, 2013 10:42 pm

After eight years I finally received a new Servoy server. ...I guess my company is starting to take it seriously...

I'm running Servoy 5.2.14. The new server is a Windows 2008 R2 server.

Should I put java 7 on there in spite of reported issues of slowness and today's apparent warning from the Department of Homeland Security?

Or should I go with version 6 which is apparently going to be end-of-lifed in February?

If v6, which update? I'm currently running 6u24 on ten Citrix boxes for my smart client deployment.

I think there's now a fix for the current vulnerability.

Also note that the vulnerability was only for applets which smart client isn't.

I find u38 very buggy. I'm heading back to u24 unless anyone has any suggestions for something in between.
